Dental Implant Procedure
Dental implants essentially function as replacement roots for an artificial tooth. We place a small, biocompatible titanium post, which resembles a small screw, into your jawbone. We then let it fuse to your bone to create a solid foundation. This fusing process is called osseointegration. In the final step of the process, we place a crown on top of the post so that you’re left with a dental implant that seamlessly matches your other teeth.
Benefits to Implant Dentistry
Besides allowing you to enjoy a full, natural-looking smile again, there are many additional benefits to implant dentistry. For one, you’ll be able to eat, brush, and floss like normal with your durable, long-lasting dental implant. The procedure also helps retain the shape of your face, which can sag and change with missing teeth. Dental implants stop your other teeth from shifting into gaps so you’ll be able to maintain your bite. Better still, they help preserve your bone in your jaw and prevent further deterioration. Dr. Jaeger is here to answer any questions you have about this treatment and how it can benefit you.
